Growing up, this was my favourite book. It's fantastic for bullied children.
When the Bunyip emerged from the depths of Berkeley's creek late one night, he only really had one question, one question we all ask ourselves. What was he? He went looking for answers, in hopes of being told- though he wasn't sure what he was or what he looked like- that he was handsome. Creature after creature turned called him ugly, horrible, and disgusting. After being told by a human that he didn't look like anything because Bunyips didn't exist, he decided that he would go and be 'As handsome as he liked' on his own. Then one night, from the depths of Berkeley's creek came a strange sound...
I loved this book growing up, and I love it still now.
