Geneen Roth writes from the heart. She knows what she's talking about because it's her own experience. This book is about gaining freedom from compulsive overeating. It's not a diet where foods are restricted, or judged as good or bad. it's about the true freedom of getting in touch with the body's needs and learning to eat to fulfill hunger and taste, rather than emotional comfort. It's about letting go of guilt and eating what we really want instead of what we think we should have. The way to get there is simple, but requires a deep look into our desires and motivations when we want to eat, which is not so simple. I believe that diets don't work and that the no-diet approach as recommended in this book is a way to break free.
