Firstly I would like to say that to everybody who was complaining about the unexpected twist in the plot-line that they obviously weren't paying any attention in the previous books and can't have read nor understood them anywhere near as clearly as they have claimed to. The first third surprise was obvious for anyone who had paused to ponder the prologue and the second third surprise had been set up since Quil and Claire. Stephenie Meyer didn't, 'pander to her charachters whims;' but has quite obviously been setting this up from the begginning. As for her destroying Sam and Rose's images, I'd just like to ask YOU to remember how Sam first appeared to both Jacob and Bella when we first met him. This is EXACTLY in character for them. The same for Rosalie, even in Jacobs part he was saying how she was only doing it out of her own sence of selfishness. Personally I thought that the whole novel was a masterpiece. Doing the 2nd third of the book from Jacobs veiw was genius- It never, ever would have worked from Bellas and from this angle we see many nuances of both plot and character development that it would be otherwise impossible to understand. The 2/3 surprise was, (as previously mentioned,) not only set up from very early on; but perfectly explained confusions arizing from earlier books. As I've said, she's ver clearly and carefully set this up from the beginning. The ending was NOT hurried, neither was it pandering nor did it happen too easily. There is change in the air and the threat is not over. In fact- this is only the first stage. The threat is now known and may be even greater because of it. The fact that they know that they are still all in danger is a testament to this. Yet, the series DOES end happily; because they do have a plan; and that is all that really mattered. I very highly reccommend this book; but not only to people who are looking for a good sory-line. This is a literary marvel and as such may be unappreciated by people who are semi-literate or ignorant. It is well written, well crafted and just overly excellent. I am shocked and ashamed that it has less than 5 stars on here. Top marks and bravo to Stephanie Meyer. 5+ Stars from me.

I absolutely loved the book and couldn't put it down. The twist was completely left field and worth the wait for the 4th book. I felt it was a fantastic ending to the series.
I was already invested in the characters and Meyers writing suked me straight in to the 4th novel and it just exploded from there, I couldn't put it down.

Another fantastic read from Stephenie Meyer in the Twilight Saga!! Cannot put the book down once you start reading it! It's gripping with suspense, intrigue, humour and above all romance. Written superbly.

This book was a great happy ending to the series. I enjoyed the whole series so much I have decided to read them again in fact I have already read Twilight twice and seen the movie twice as well. I am the mother of three teenagers two of whom are girls and several teenage nieces. I am glad there is some decent literature out there that is encouraging young people to believe in romance and promotes abstinence, that values peoples personalities and unselfish traits as well as putting less emphasis on how a person should look or how much money they have to spend. Stephanie Meyers' encourages young people to value more important things in life such as family, friendships, love, romance, loyalty, chivalry and education. I soooo wish there was some more books to read to the series. Breaking Dawn has had some really bad reviews over the net and I was a bit disappointed that some people could not comprehend the messages mplied throughout the books. Things really wrapped up nicely with this last book. I also read the first 20 odd chapters of Midnight Sun on Stephanie Meyers website and think its a shame she is not going to finish it anytime soon.

As far as Im concerned if you want a light read to take you away from reality for a few hours and use your imagination, these books are the ones for you.
I cant believe such negative comments from some people, you have to remember it is ok to make believe and depart from the real world once in a while.
I know they will not be everyones cup of tea, but they were a good read for me and I really enjoyed the whole series, cant wait to watch all the movies.
All good things must come to an end, although in this case I would have and could have easily read more.

Another great book in the series. Most of this book was superb, but the very end was slightly disappointing. It leaves her open to do more in the series, I suppose, but if it is indeed the ending, as it's made out to be, I'm a little disappointed. Not from her bad writing or anything, just because I'm left still wanting more!
A great read for the romantics at heart and those who love a happy ending!

If you have read all the others in the series, this is the one you have been waiting for. A totally unexpected twist to the plot that keeps the pages turning. Bella and Edward and all the characters we love from the other books are here and fighting for their way of life and their lives.

This was my favourite of the four. It brought in many events from the earlier books, which showed that the author had an overall plan for the series. And, I actually like the happy ending!!! The twists and turns throughout were great and I particularly enjoyed the way she described both the birth and the 'changing' of Bella into a vampire. I agree with others that the part from Jacob's point of view was really good and I also cringed at the name, Renesmee - yuck. But then, Bella is a teenager so I guess she's still a little immature still. I read the twilight series in a week, and though Stephenie Meyer isn't my favourite author, I think she captured the angst and awkwardness of teenage love, perfectly.
