If you only read one book on obsessive compulsive disorder then make it this one. This book explains exactly what is and is not happening in the brain for OCD sufferers. It then discusses the research that shows on brain scans that following a specific set of steps can repair the parts of the brain that are not working effectively. The book then explains the four steps and how to start using them. What I really like is that there is a summary section that makes a great handout to give to parents and clients so that they understand clearly what the problem is and how therapy fixes it.
I have been amazed at the results of following this program with clients that had quiet severe problems. It is not difficult once you understand what steps to take. If you work with OCD clients then this book is the bible for treatment.
