I loved the concept of this book. Having just come off the back of the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris I was looking for my next series to indulge in. It gives you a taste of each author's writing style and concept they are putting forth. It wasn't the best book I've read and nothing on the above series that I just finished, but it certainly is worth a look at.

A great wee filler between novels for those of you who like this genre. Each story is different enough to keep you enthralled and each author has their own unique style of writing that grabs your imagination (and sometimes parts of your anatomy!). The first by Laurell K Hamilton is a real teaser if you're a fan of Anita Blake like I am - it's just so short. All of these stories are worth a read, and you may find a new author to tickle your fancy.

The five short stories/novellas in this book are all well done. Each represents a different set of expectations concerning vampire lore, and all are entertaining. The only author I was unfamiliar with was Vickie Taylor, whose story "Blood Lust" is a romance set to vampire music. This is a boy loses wrong girl to bad guy, finds right girl, gets right girl

I brought this book for Hamilton to get an idea of the series of Anita Blake, I must say it was a disappointment, to say it was too short is an understatement, it was more like a chapter and certainly failed to inspire me to buy more books in the series.
As for the remaining stories and other authors nothing too inspirational there, Mary Janice Davidson was not up to her usual standard and the other stories were readable but not much more.

I had an absolute ball reading this book! From the first story by Hamilton- a too short but marvellous and sensuous story about my favourite vampire huntress and necromancer Anita Blake to the hilarious and laugh a minute tale by Maryjanice Davidson, I was captivated. The Sookie Stackhouse story was too short as well but a very smartly done gem and from Angela Knight the much more fluently written and nicely erotic tale 'Galahad'. Altogether a smart and witty collection of stories from these very bright and imaginative authors.
