A classic picture book by Eric Carle: "The Bad-Tempered Ladybird". The bad-tempered ladybird picks fights with every animal he meets, but soon learns the importance of friends and turns into a far nicer, happier bug. The beautifully illustrated pages of this entertaining book demonstrate the sizes of the different animals and the sun's path across the sky as time passes. Eric Carle is an internationally bestselling and award-winning author and illustrator of books for very young children. Eric lives in Massachusetts with his wife, Barbara. The Carles opened The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Massachusetts in 2002. Reviews

yeah, the review from "upstairs" is right. I really think it is not a good book like the other books from Eric Carle. I think the one called "the mixup chameleon" is better than it. the very busy spider is also better than it too. I agree that the writing is awkward.
otherwise the print is good, thanks for Puffin Books!
I bought this book because I love Eric Carle's books and artwork. I was disapointed. This book doesn't read as well as some of his better known books. There is an awkwardness about the writing and I felt uneasy reading a story to my preschooler about a ladybug who want to beat everybody in fight. As usual Carle's unique illustration technique is appealing but this book is not as good as the popular hungry caterpillar, not even close! I love to collect picture books and didn't even keep this one, it ended up in the $1 pile at a garage sale. Give this one a miss.
