About the Author

Professor Kazuyuki Shimizu is based at the Kyushu Institute of Technology as well as Institute of Advanced Biosciences of Keio University in Japan. He has long been involved in the research on 13C-metabolic flux analysis based on 13C-labelling experiment, and he paid attention to the metabolic regulation of a cell system such as Escherichia coli together with systems biology approach for the modelling and computer simulation toward development of virtual cell system.
