Simple text and full-color photographs describe baby tigers, and throughout the story, special "Fact Stops" offer interesting information about tigers and their natural habitats.
Reviews
PreS-Gr 1-These books incorporate full-color photographs of baby animals to tell a simple story while also offering information, called "Fact Stops," on each page. The titles open with an introduction for parents, which serves to establish the books' purpose and offer tips as to how they can be read by the parent, the child, or together. The fact that the books start with instructions takes the fun out of them from the get-go, and the pedestrian story lines don't help. Little Kitten is more bearable than Baby Tiger because the story unfolds without quite so much interference from the Fact Stops. Discussion questions at the end of each book will be meaningless unless readers have read each Fact Stop. The color photos will appeal to animal lovers, but they're nothing special.
