Gaul was divided into three parts. No, four parts - for one small village of indomitable Gauls still held out against the Roman invaders. BOOK 21 On being demobilised from the Roman army Legionary Tremensdelirius gets the title deeds to the little Gaulish village. Soon, however, he swaps them for a drink in a tavern and the landlord Orthopaedix, his wife Angina and their daughter Influenza set off to claim their rights. Strange to say, Asterix and his friends don't see it quite the same way.

Asterix is just a silly french creation that we all like. about a guy caled asterix who is a bit small but helps his people (thee gauls) resist the roman occupation of his land with the help of a funny little wizard and his fat friend obelix. There are heaps of asterix books out there and if you love comics, youl love asterix!
One of the flatter Asterix books, although still miles better than any of the ones written after Goscinny died. The basic idea is that when a legion of Romans gets demobbed, they all get given gifts of land in the Empire; one Roman, who had insulted Caesar the night before, gets given Asterix's village to teach him a lesson. Unfortunately this is sold to a Gaulish innkeeper who comes to claim it.
The story is less gripping than some of the others but it does raise an interesting moral dilemma. Who SHOULD get to be chief of the village? Everyone is an innocent victim trying to claim what rightly should be his or hers. Although the storyline is sparse it is fully competent writing and even somewhat thought-provoking.
