This second edition is referenced throughout to the 2007 QTS Standards and has been fully updated to reflect the Primary National Strategy and key initiatives such as Every Child Matters. Mary Briggs is Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education in the Institute of Education at the University of Warwick.Angela Woodfield teaches at St. Christopher Primary School in Coventry. During her thirty three years in the profession, she has taught the whole range of primary children, and has been a headteacher in two very different primary schools.Cynthia Martin is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick. She lectures and leads seminars on assessment and trains trainees in school on how to make effective assessment of learning.
