Te Kahui o Matariki is a large-scale book containing contemporary artwork, photography, poetry and short writings including personal experiences of Matariki - the Maori New Year. This book contains an introduction and background to Matariki. The artists include painters, sculptors, photographers, weavers, carvers and mixed media artists. About the Author Producer, director and radio presenter Libby Hakaraia co-hosted National Radio's Whenua show. Through her television company Kiwa Productions, Libby has been associated with several award-winning documentaries. She is currently producing, directing and writing a number of television programmes. Colleen Urlich is one of the five senior founding members of the Maori clay movement Kaihanga Uku. She is a full-time artist and exhibitions coordinator. |
