Schneider, William & others. The Art of Pastel. Walter Foster: Quayside. 2010. 144p. illus. ISBN 9781600581953. pap. $19.95. ART INSTRUCTION Pastel is a deceptively simple medium, rich in flexibility but very easy to turn into mud. Three accomplished artists each present an original take on the medium, with Schneider featuring a mostly realist approach; Marla Baggetta, impressionistic and abstract methods; and Nathan Rohlander, oil pastel. All offer useful vignette images of details within each project. This is a comprehensive guide for beginners. - "Library Journal, November 15, 2010"
