This photographic catalogue of the helmets worn by WWII American parachutists during D-Day and beyond is based on the multiple exhibits at the D-Day Paratroopers Historical Centre (Centre Historique des Parachutistes du Jour-J) at Carentan, Normandy. It details and explains the different helmet markings in a series of large format colour photographs of the exhibits, accompanied by previously unpublished photographs from veterans' private collections showing paratroopers in action and at rest during the liberation of Europe in 1944 and 1945.
