This is a lovely book written by a Dakota Sioux Indian Lady, ZITKALA-SA(Gertrude Bonnin). It starts with her earliest memories, as a small child, living with her mother in an indian village. I feel a great affinity with most American Indian tribes and their traditions, so this book was a pleasure to read. Helen Keller must have been a friend of the author, as there is a letter published at the beginning of the book, whereby Helen praises Zitkala-Sa and wishes her and her book of Indian tales all success. This book was first published in 1921. It has 89 pages.
