I love this festivals book! It is full of craft items to make, all simple enough for children to be involved in, recipes and little bits of information and ideas for making your festivals spiritual, reverential and most of all, fun and memorable for your family. I like the question and answers sessions with the authors, explaining how they incorporate the festivals into their families. And the last section is a story for each of the festivals. Of course, it would be lovely to have a Southern Hemisphere festival book, but all these ideas can just be played around with to suit the seasons here.

You needn’t be an experienced craftsperson to create beautiful things! This step by step, well illustrated book with clear instructions shows you how to get started. Children and parents are encouraged to try all sorts of handwork, with different projects relating to the seasons of the year. Designs and patterns for children’s clothing are included, using natural fabrics for the child’s body to breathe whilst growing. Here are soft toys, wooden toys, moving toys such as balancing birds or climbing gnomes, horses, woolly hats, mobiles and dolls. Plenty, plenty of opportunity to become an expert crafs person!
