The artwork is some of the best artwork in comics today. However the stories aren't always as strong. They are definitely best read together than reading single issues. Luckilly in this collection the best 30 Days of Night series are featured.
30 Days of Night is mostly set in the town Barrow in Alaska. The crux of the series is that Barrow is perpetually dark for a month, which is what attracts the vampires to take refuge there. However the people there don't welcome them and have stood together against them. It must be applauded that the vampires here do not have typical vulnerabilities. Vampires are immune to being staked, crosses and garlic. However they can be beheaded and sunlight still affects them. But any vampire can come back from the dead if their blood comes in contact with their ashes. The story isn't very linear, not that its a bad thing but it could have more depth.
