This is a very intriguing story set in regency times. Christopher is a pirate and criminal and Maria has an unwanted notorious reputation. These two characters are brought together by unexpected circumstances but once they spend some time together, they both become highly enthralled and smitten with each other. They face many deceptions and scheming enemies but this doesn't stop the love from developing between them. It's sizzlingly hot, full of suspense, intense and has a surprising ending.

Maria Lady Winter has a reputation for being a murderess amongst other things - an evil, amoral woman. She has buried two husbands and got up to goodness knows what other things. Christopher St John is charged to trap her for her misdeeds so she will get her just reward. Meanwhile, Maria is being blackmailed to solicit evidence of Christopher's misdeeds. One will succeed, the other will hang.

This is more like it. I have read the first two books of Day and haven';t liked them because of the lack of story. This has a much better story and explanation of the characters thought processes. The sex is still very raunchy but not so offensive as the other books. I like this book.
